Dick Whittington – The best Panto!

On Saturday we were extremely lucky to go to a new Panto Performance – Dick Whittington at the Hawth Crawley.

Chloe, Katie, Jake and I arrived then went to find our seats, They had an amazing view of the stage.

I couldn’t quite remember the tale of Dick Whittington so to see this Pantomime was very exciting!

The show was non stop entertainment throughout and fully immersive experience, With a great degree of audience involvement.

I just admit I was slightly nervous because I went on my own but I needn’t have worried, Jake was entertained the whole time and he is only 19 months, my girls who are 4 and 7 we mesmerised. With the helps of some snacks.

At the end of the show we were lucky to meet the cast! The girls especially loved meeting Queen Rat aka Charlie Brooks! And Richard Brooks who plays Billy and is hilarious in the snow, They were both so friendly and signed the girls programmes.

I can honestly say this was the best Panto I have seen and I’d highly recommend booking tickets ASAP!

We were kindly gifted tickets in exchange for this review.

Christmas at Drusillas Park

Yesterday we were really excited to go to Drusillas Park in Alfriston, East Sussex and meet Father Christmas.

Chloe is 7 and Katie is 4, So completely into the magic of Christmas, Jake at 18 months is a little too young to understand but enjoys the lights and excitement.

As we walked into the most Christmassy part of the park we walked through some pretty blue lights overhead, my photo doesn’t do it justice.

All of the Father Christmas slots are scheduled so no queuing which was fantastic!

Whilst we waited we visited the Husky’s and were able to stroke them, this was a really cool experience for us and the children.

Then we went to meet Father Christmas! We were greeted by Mrs Claus and the Elves! Who were super friendly and helpful. The children were given a carrot to pass to Father Christmas for his reindeer.

As we walked in to Father Christmas Grotto it was lovely and warm and Father Christmas was asleep and then told the girls all about his reindeer, they really felt at ease and told him what they would like for Christmas. ( they often go quiet ) he was so friendly and then gave all three a lovely gift each. I won’t show it as will leave it as a surprise.

Then we left the grotto and there was a photo opportunity on a sleigh! ( To take yourself )

Next we moved onto enjoying some rides together, the girls and Jake especially loved the rainforest carousel

And of course we then went on the Hello Kitty rides, the car ride is always a winner with our three.

We then took a walk around the Zoo! The children loved seeing all of the creatures.

Here’s just a few!

If you are visiting soon, you are in for a treat.

So Christmas is now at Drusillas Park, an additional fee is paid on top of entry to see Father Christmas. He is there until the 23rd December 2019. Tickets can be booked at www.Drusillas.co.uk or as a gift idea how about buying a membership gift voucher or a Drusillas Close encounter experience!

I just wanted to add as well that next year Drusillas Park are announcing a new Jurassic Attraction in 2020 with several animatronic and model dinosaurs who will move into the park!

We were kindly gifted entry in exchange for a social media review.

Drusillas Park

We were lucky enough to go to Drusillas Park over the Easter bank holiday when the weather was perfectly sunny and warm. Drusillas is a Zoo and Adventure Park with rides and lots of fun areas to play. Our children: Chloe (6) Katie (3) Jake ( nearly 1) came along for a very exciting day out.

Zoo Animals to see

Upon arriving we were able to park straight away close to the entrance, the queue to enter the park moved really quickly around five minutes baring in mind it was a bank holiday Monday too.

When we walked in the girls were able to pick up stamp books ( free of charge ) there is a stamp station next to each animal in the book, the children need to spot the animal.

Beautiful Flamingos

On certain days the park has Characters there to meet! On the day we went PJ Masks were in residence, after queuing it was well worth it! The Characters spent a good amount of time talking to my children then posing for photos. They made the girls so happy and now they love watching PJ Masks!

Meeting PJ Masks

Next the girls were desperate to go to the water play area, it’s great because it’s really safe and there are lots of benches and Astro turf that parents/ carers can sit and watch their children have fun! Plus it’s next to the park area, which my girls loved and didn’t want to leave! We even went back later in the day. The refillable slush I think it was around £3 for a refillable cup then £1 a top up, because it was so warm she went back a few times, was definitely a firm favourite with my Eldest Daughter. We didn’t go to the soft play because it was a very warm day but have in the past and it’s an amazing size soft play area that is well looked after.

Banana Swings

Next we went to the Hello Kitty Rides, even for a bank holiday there were barely any queue’s amazing! So the girls went on the rides again and again.

This ride was a firm favourite

We then went and brought lunch from the Explorers Cafe, I felt there was a good selection and a self serve salad bar which had a good selection. It came to around £22 for 4 of us to eat ( Baby Jake ate a bit of our meals and some food i’d brought with me. )

Then time for more rides, the new Rainforest Carousel, which was so beautiful and the girls loved riding on it with their Dad standing alongside their horses, Chloe (6) found the giant Elephant in front of the ride that made funny noises hilarious!

New this year! Rainforest Carousel

Thank you for a wonderful day Drusillas, the girls can’t wait to come back, and are already asking me! It really was the perfect family day and I’d highly recommend to other Parents.

So much fun!

We were kindly given entry to the park by Drusillas in exchange for this review and Instagram coverage all opinions are my own. ( Instagram story’s in my highlights under ‘Days Out’ )

AD Quinny Hubb

A few weeks ago, we received the Quinny Hubb, To start this blog post in my 6 years of having my children I have not used a travel system quite as convenient as this one.

The Quinny Hubb is new to the UK this year, It is amazingly versatile, comfortable and many configurations that grow with your family. A spacious, highly comfortable, stylish pushchair. Available with a flexible Duo accessory, the Quinny Hubb keeps adapting to your life.

So the Hubb has the option for parent or world facing, When my 3 year old Katie is at Nursery I will have Jake, my 10 month old baby facing me. So I can easily communicate with him. This means the large basket is easily available so that I can go shopping and put lots of bags underneath (don’t tell my Husband!) including Jake’s changing bag, in fact far more storage space than I have had with other pushchairs.

Quinny Hubb
To set up press the grey button on the right hand-side then the one on the handle bar

The Quinny Hubb is really straightforward to put up when unloading from the boot of my car, just push the button on the side then on the handle and the chassis rises up. There are several options where you can slot either a car seat, another pushchair seat or the hop on bench. Then slot the seat in place it really is so simple! To release just hold the clasps on both sides.

Quinny Hubb Hop on Board
The board slots in so easily, ensure it’s the second gaps

Because I also have a three year old I tend to leave the hop on bench slotted in place if I know I will have both of my children with me on a particular day. The hop on bench is an amazing addition, it doesn’t fall off like stand on buggy boards I have had in the past and is held in place really firmly. There is still space in the basket still. This pushchair is stylish yet really heavy duty and withholds pretty much anything life throws your way especially when out and about with more than one child, even up and down curbs.

Quinny Hubb With Hop on Board
Ready to go! No moans from my Daughter about having to walk too far as she can now have a rest

With 6 standard colour packages, there’s always a Hubb that suits your lifestyle, We went with the black because it matches our car and for us shows less day to day dirt, although I do love the colours available.

In the colder months there is also a foot muff available in various colours, We love the grey, It’s so soft and keeps Jake warm; meaning he can wear a lighter jacket on top rather than a full snow suit if the weather isn’t too cold.

Quinny Hubb World facing
A huge basket

I also love that when Jake is world facing in his seat, there is an extendable sun canopy (UV 50+) that has a convenient peek-a-boo window to keep an eye on your child when they’re facing away from you, Just the other day he awoke from his sleep and gave me a lovely smile through the peek-a-boo window. Plus the sun canopy can be pulled down quite far meaning your child is well covered on the warmest of days.

Quinny Hubb - Peek a boo
Peek a boo mesh and reclines using the clip at the top of the seat

All in all I can honestly say this is my favourite of all pushchairs I have owned and that is quite a few! It just makes my life easier when out and about as any Mum of three knows is so helpful. I think knowing that Jake is comfortable and secure and Katie is in front of me safely on the bench, makes a far smoother ride plus the width of a single pushchair. I normally struggle with the set up of some travel systems and with this one I haven’t at all.

For any Parents expecting with one or more children, I would highly recommend because you can add a carry cot or car seat too. I have been kindly gifted this item by Quinny and Azaria Ltd, all opinions are my own.

Clearly Scrumptious

We have been kindly sent a box of healthy treats from Clearly Scrumptious. Clearly Scrumptious is a healthy treat Company that make natural and delicious snacks with no added nonsense. My Children, Husband and I love to snack so these went down well.

Clearly Scrumptious
Amazing selection – Kindly gifted for review

Clearly Scrumptious create dried foods that are 100% natural and one of your five a day.

Clearly Scrumptious Treats
Cranberry and Raisins – All different tasty flavours

The various dried cranberries and raisins were the clear favourite, because of all of the different flavours like apple, cherry, raspberry and blueberry followed by the sweet tasting dried strawberries which my Daughter couldn’t get over were actually really strawberries just dried and she said how delicious they tasted. I love how they are all around 100 calories so a perfect light snack anytime of the day.

Clearly Scrumptious
Crunchy Apple Wedges

The dried apple wedges weren’t particularly popular with my family as generally prefer fresh apples, However these would be great on the go and a store cupboard staple as have a pretty long expiry date. The packets are a great swap for sweets and perfect for being out and about with children and adults alike. Which is how the Children have been eating these snacks usually during days out as a snack between meals.

Clearly Scrumptious state the snacks are wheat, gluten and dairy free whilst also being suitable for vegans plus have no added sugar.

Not even four and off to School this year

As my youngest Daughter sits playing with her baby brother, I wonder where the time went? It seems like five minutes ago I brought her home as a newborn after the most straight forward and only non induced labour of all three.

Siblings
Siblings

From the start she was an easy baby sleeping in 3 hour blocks from birth.

She just fitted in so perfectly to our family. It’s creeping up on me how much I will miss her, she is so helpful and kind yet with a very stubborn streak!

Now as we drop my eldest Daughter off at School I think soon I will be taking her and as my late Grandma said almost lose her forever of the innocence she now has. I wonder how she will cope five days a week? Will she make Friends? Be tired? Eat her School dinner, Listen? She does three days at Nursery which she really enjoys and has made some friends although she can be a little shy. She is my little helper ( she chooses too ) helps me unpack the shopping and even load the washing machine.

Daughter
Little one

I am also all to aware having an older Daughter, that with starting School there are so so many parts of the adventure to look forward too, That I must embrace each stage, as no one can stop time, So if you are in this situation I’d say look forward rather than back as so much joy to come.

For for the next 6 months I will be enjoying as much time as I can with her doing the things she loves, Knowing the 08:50am drop off will come round all too soon for us both.

Do you have a School starter this year? How are you feeling? xx

Happy baby sleep with Snuz (AD/ Gifted for review)

The new SnuzPouch sleeping bag by Snuz features a wonderful patent pending nappy change zip! to make changing your baby whilst they sleep so much simpler with far less disturbance.

The SnuzPouch comes in many wonderful designs, here my baby Jake aged 9 months in the Geo Grey 6-18 months 2.5 tog, the SnuzPouch comes in 0-6 months 1 or 2.5 tog or 6-18 months in the 1 or 2.5 tog.

The SnuzPouch is made with super soft cotton, perfect fit poppers and a handy side zip.

My favourite feature is the simple access zip for a late night or early morning nappy change but I don’t want to wake him up. This would be so useful in younger babies too who wake very frequently in the night.

SnuzPouch

Baby Jake has been sleeping in his SnuzPouch for 3 nights and he is so happy and warm in it. Jake moves around his cot freely with no covers to kick off and become cold. I honestly believe a sleeping bags such as this are part of the reason why all three of my children have slept through the night so well from around 3 months old. I wish I’d used a Snuz Pouch for all of my babies from 2 months old it would have made my life that bit easier!

SnuzPouch

I believe in a new clean mattress for each baby, a clear cot so no toys when sleeping, no cot bumpers and a sleeping bag to avoid the risks of loose covers. So this SnuzPouch is perfect ( and British safety tested) because I can be assured that Jake is at the right temperature over night, I will dress him in a vest, sleep suit and his sleeping bag during the winter months ( our heating goes off at 10pm and his room is warm.

SnuzPouch

I absolutely love the trendy ‘geo’ design in grey. The SnuzPouch would look so cool on a little boy or girl and neutral enough to fit in with pretty much any Nursery.

Snuz is also home to the award winning bedside crib SnuzPod

They also sell a collection of dreamy cot beds to fall in love with…….do check out their website for the wonderful collection. SnuzKot converts from birth to around 10 years old, so a great investment for your child.

Getting my nearly 9 month old baby to take a bottle with NUK Nature Sense Bottles 6-18 Months ( gifted )

If you have been following me for a while you’ll know that I’ve been having great difficulty with Baby Jake taking a bottle. Since his birth in May last year Jake has been exclusively breastfed, At around 5 weeks I expressed milk occasionally which he took from a bottle. I made the mistake of not trying again for sometime. At around 4 months I tried again knowing that I had to leave him for a couple of nights because I had an operation looming.

In the lead up to the operation I tried so many brands of bottle including cups, I fed him before the general anesthetic then whilst I was asleep Jake took most of a small bottle of expressed milk from my Husband in a Cafe. Success we thought….

However it was not to be, as he just wouldn’t take a bottle again, so I fed him as I came round half asleep from the Operation. There after I continued to try even every day, I thought with starting weaning he may become interested in a bottle. I had tried several different brands with no success he would just scream and push the bottle away whilst clamping his mouth firmly shut.

He can be fussy when breastfeeding too i.e going on and off a lot screaming etc. He just doesn’t seem to love food or milk!

My Sister recommend NUK bottles, so speaking with the team at NUK they kindly gifted me a bottle to try, and in the spirit of transparency Jake is entertaining this bottle sucking it a little and holding it to his mouth not pushing it away and screaming which is what he did with the others, we still have a way to go but finally making some progress. Which is what I’d hoped for as now feel ready to stop breastfeeding. The NUK Nature Sense is specifically designed for 6 -18 month old babies and recommended by Midwives and Pediatricians with a anti colic vent.

I love the design simple yet classic plus it’s design mimics the tiny milk ducts found in the breast which I think is really clever and not heard of that in other bottles.

All views are my own and I was given ( gifted ) the bottle to review. Thank you NUK.

“Do you feel done?”

A question I found myself thinking after I had a natural straight forward birth experience with my Second Daughter.

As soon we arrived home and a Midwife visited the next day, she said goodbye and said we’ll see you for the next one,m I said you won’t but then thought…..hmm I thought I just didn’t feel ‘DONE’ She told me you know when you are DONE.

A couple of years flew by and I felt like things were starting to settle the girls were/still are good sleepers and I was starting to feel better in myself and even loosing weight and we’d just had an amazing holiday to America.

There were times when we’d discuss the idea of a third but it brought up so many points to consider. Yet came back to the decision we were more than happy with our two amazing girls.

So when considering another child, you think where will he/she sleep long term, the car you need to get another type to fit all three in full back car seats if they all still need them ( we did!) A couple of months before we did decide to go for an SMax. ( I missed my old car for a while because it had lots of nice extras ) Even though the Ford SMax is super economical and spacious so perfect for a larger family.

Splitting attention was also a tough one to think about and how would I even manage to look after three being so outnumbered? and then how would we arrange their bedrooms?

My third pregnancy was extremely hard. I was very sick for the first 20 weeks and then my gestational diabetes came back and had to take continually upped amounts of insulin and had numerous urine infections and more issues on top of all that, which I won’t go into.

When I found out I was expecting baby number three we were in absolute shock! However after the news had sunk in we were so excited and couldn’t wait for our growing addition to arrive.

Someone once said to me, You never regret the children you have and that is so very true.

I also think it’s more of a challenge with your first because you have to build the family and your whole life changes beyond recognition, However any subsequent children just fit into the family that has already been made.

So in May last year our final baby, Jake arrived ( we knew his gender from a scan in January 2018 ) and couldn’t be more happy, he completed our family perfectly. Yes at times it is a juggling act but my older girls are great with him and completely adore him. Jake’s face lights up when he see’s them.

Would you like a larger family? I also fully appreciate it is not always a choice for everyone.

Gummee Glove – For all teething stages

The Gummee Glove comes in stages 1-6, covering from 0-33 months old ( also catering for children with additional needs)

My baby has been wearing the 6 months plus size, which fits perfectly on his hand and didn’t come lose.

The bright high contrast pattern and colours jumped out straight away at my baby,  The older children were also intrigued and headed over for a play,  they hadn’t seen a teether like it before.

Gummee Glove

I was very impressed with the design because the glove stayed on his hand, as most other teething toys get dropped on the floor repeatedly then need cleaning which is a pain when out and about. As anyone with a teething age baby knows they drop toys or food continually. So the Gummee Glove was a revelation in this respect, far less bending down for me!

I love that the silicone teether can also be pulled out if required, but also stays held in. You could even add teething granules or gels to it, for helping to soothe sore gums.

The crackly material also intrigued my baby along with the silicone sides where he likes to chew or hold onto with his other hand.

The Gummee Glove is 100% cotton, the teethers are food grade silicone, BPA and Phalate free. The Glove is also machine washable and has a travel pouch included for hygienic storage. We love the Gummee Glove and would highly recommend, this would make a great gift for a friend at a baby shower or with a new baby, So definitely worth checking out www.gummee.life

Thank you Gummee for kindly gifting us the Gummee Glove, all opinions are my own.
